To commemorate Martin Luther King Day, to honor the spirit of “I Have A Dream,” to fulfill the unfinished work of the Poor People’s Campaign, President Trump deported Jorge Garcia, who was brought to America as a 10 year old child, 30 years ago.
“A time comes when silence is betrayal.”
Those are words I carry around. I think about them more than I should admit. But I’ve come to see the problem as us: those of us who look the other way, those of us who say nothing, those of us who golf at Mar-a-Lago.
It’s a sickness. Golfing is a sickness, one more way we pretend to be busy, while people are suffering, for no reason, besides we’re too busy to notice.
Let’s reunite Jorge with his wife, Cindy. Let’s deport Melania. What has she done, really, to deserve citizenship? Besides wining the genetic lottery. And attaching herself to a cruel, cruel man.
Happy Day After Martin Luther King Day.
What are you going to do with it? Let me guess: work on your short game. Who am I kidding? I’ll meet you on the Back Nine.
